Sooooo....I decided I wanted to produce a show (made the decision back in August 2009); on my own; from fundraising to marketing to script development to casting and finally to production. Oh yeah, I'm IN the play as well! :-O
I decided to blog about the process because I thought that a) blogging about all of the ups and downs, successes and near successes would help me to remain bouyant and keep me from going insane and b) someone else out there might be going through or has already gone through some of the experiences that I might have and share their expertise with me (PLEASE!?!)
So, eventhough I've already been hard at work (I hired a director 2 weeks ago; held a casting session last week- [dats a WHOOOLE other story]; garnered and lost an organization as a sponsor/producing partner; began talks to hire other members of my creative team) this is the FIRST POST I've been able to make cataloging this endeavor.
. . . And it's gonna be a short post. Just wanted to get started, I actually have a couple of phone calls to make following up on potential leads for sponsors. Anyhoo... I will certainly be making another post soon!
